Objectives

… is to establish an efficient, and scalable process to convert low-value biogenic residues and organic waste to heat and power with negative or zero emission through CLC-CFB coupled with gas cleaning and CO2 liquefaction.

  • To demonstrate Bio-FlexCLC at MW-scale with downstream treatment and liquefaction.
  • To further the understanding of CLC of biogenic residues
  • To improve the conversion of fuel by laboratory experiments and modelling
  • To reduce SOx, NOx, aromatics, and particle emissions
  • To evaluate the flexibility of switching CLC to CFB boiler
  • To design a commercial scale CLC-CFB boiler for Bio-FlexCLC operation at an industrial scale
  • To evaluate the flexibility of Bio-FlexCLC operation with changing thermal input load
  • To evaluate the flexibility of CLC operation with heat-to-power ratio

To evaluate social and economic barriers to adopting Bio-FlexCLC in the regions in transition from fossil fuels
